Block explicit websites

Change your SafeSearch settings

It can be difficult to keep offensive and inappropriate content out of your search results. That's why we've created SafeSearch settings. Change your SafeSearch settings to help keep sites that contain sexually explicit content out of your search results.

  1. Go to Bing.

  2. Click Preferences at the top of the page.

  3. In the SafeSearch section, click one of the following options:

    • Strict filters adult text, images, and videos from your search results.

    • Moderate filters adult images and videos, but not text, from your search results. This is the default setting.

    • Off doesn't filter the results for adult content.

  4. Click Save.

Notes

  • By default, SafeSearch uses advanced technology to filter all adult images, but it might not catch everything. For information about how to report offensive content in your search results, see Report a concern about a result.

  • Learn more about online safety. The Online Safety website might be available in English only.

  • Ensure that SafeSearch is always on when your kids search on Bing, choose what they see online, set time limits and game restrictions, and more. Windows users can install the free download, Windows Live Family Safety.

  • Some features and functionality described here may not be available in your country or region.
