About the Morningstar style box for funds

The Morningstar style box contains information to help you identify a fund's investing style.

For equity funds, the style box offers a broad view of a fund's holdings and risk, by characterizing them as:

  • Small-cap, mid-cap, or large-cap

  • Value stocks, growth stocks, or a blend of the two

For fixed income funds, the style box displays information about:

  • Credit quality

  • Sensitivity to changes in interest rates
