If Bing Bar doesn't function properly, or if you receive an error message that states that Bing Bar has encountered an error, your installation of Bing Bar may have corrupted or missing files. Try the following solutions in the order that they're presented.
Make sure that your computer meets the system requirements. For more information, see System requirements.
If you're using Windows Internet Explorer, make sure that your security settings are not set to High.
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, and then click Internet.
In the Security level for this zone area, click Default level.
Repair Bing Bar.
In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run.

In Windows Vista, click Start, and then click in the Start Search box.
Type appwiz.cpl, and then press ENTER.
In the Currently installed programs list, click Bing Bar, and then click Repair or Change.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Bing Bar requires the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight. If you don't have the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight, Bing Bar displays an error message and an Install Silverlight button. Click Install Silverlight, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
Uninstall and reinstall Bing Bar.
If you don't see some or all of the features described in this topic, you may have an older version of Bing Bar. To install the latest version of Bing Bar with all the newest features, go to the Bing Bar Download website.
