To determine the version of Microsoft Windows Media Player on your computer:

Open Windows Media Player.

Press CTRL+1 to go to Full Mode.

On the Help menu, click About.

Note the version number that is listed below the copyright notice.
To determine the version of Microsoft Windows on your computer:

On the Start menu, click Run.

Type winver, and then click OK.

You will see a dialog which indicates the version of Windows on your computer.

If you have Windows XP, be sure to note whether the version ends with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2.

Use the version information to select the appropriate Operating System version from the dropdown on the MSN Music Support page.
